ABOUT ME

My name is Lyanne Zitman. I am twenty years old and currently in my third year at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute studying Fashion & Branding. Over the past year, I have completed two minors, specializing in photography and film.

The statement I often aim to convey through my work is: "I want to make statements that shock people and make them uncomfortable, forcing them to question their assumptions. This sparks conversations and leads to change."

Interests

I am passionate about shedding light on important issues and raising awareness. I particularly enjoy working on projects related to mental health and social norms.

I love experimenting with different styles, such as streetwear, but I am also deeply intrigued by punk and scene fashion.
Over the past year, I have discovered my love for visual storytelling, and I greatly enjoy working with a camera to bring narratives to life.

Education

During my first two years at AMFI, I gained comprehensive knowledge of branding through courses in graphic design, copywriting, and marketing.

In my third year, I completed the minor Time Based Media at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in Dutch. This minor focuses on visual storytelling through film or installation. I chose to do both, resulting in my project Als Je Mij Verlaat.

Following this, I pursued the minor Fashion & Visual Culture at AMFI in English, where I studied visual culture and fashion communication. This included both a photography and a film assignment. For the photography assignment, I created the story poster A Roaring Defiance. The film assignment is currently in progress.
